100th Post
I really haven't felt like Blogging lately. Must have been something in the water when we went camping because I noticed Summer hasn't felt like it either...
Its not that things haven't been worth blogging about, because that its NOT the case.
I guess I will use my 100th blog to catch you up a little.
First things First -- Patrick & Courtney are ENGAGED! This happend a couple of weeks ago...the 19th of October. Courtney is one of my 9 really close college friends. We are all so happy for Courtney & Patrick and I am looking forward to all the planning that will come over the next year!
Courtney's 28 birthday was on the 18th. Happy belated birthday to Courtney. She had an exciting birthday, huh?
Last weekend was Courtney's annual Birthday camping trip. My camera was still in the shop so I didn't get to take any photos. I have been feeling really incomplete. Probably another reason I haven't posted lately. The camping trip was a blast. I rode up to Helen with The Dobbs & Jami. It was some great quality time and I enjoyed catching up. We met the other 15 people (or so) in Helen. Unfortunately it was Octoberfest weekend and a little crowded but all in all it was a tons of fun. Brad didn't come because he was studying (of course) and doing some things in the yard. I definitely missed him and Jami became my tent partner. Thanks Jami! Although it was cold, we both had awesome sleeping bags to keep us toasty. Courtney's 5th Annual camping trip was yet another success.
Hmmm. what else...
Brad & I went to vote on Tuesday before work. It took under 2 hours so that was bettere than I thought it would be and then we had a quick breakfast together before I headed to work. I definitely feel like my civic duty is done. Now, If I wasn't so terriried about how this election will turn out and the future of our country...yet another reason I haven't felt like blogging lately. I was afraid of the RANTS that I would include in my blog and I didn't really want to go there. I have done my part and now I can only hope that others will do theirs. coughvotemcaincough.
I have been busy doing things around the house, per usual. We are throwing my parents a 40th Wedding Anniversary party next month and I can think of around 83 things I need to do to prepare. Yesterday, Brad and I drove about an hour away from home to pick up a heat shield for our wood burning stove that helps to heat the house from the basement. It needed to be done but not exactly how I wanted to spend my saturday afternoon.
Most of my "free time" -- whatever that means, has consisted of working on photo books. I FINALLY fnished Rian & Lauren's wedding book and I will post a link to it later if I can figure it out. It turned out great and it took tons of time to complete. Probably around 30 hours total. I have also decided that I am going to turn my 2008 photo book into a blog book. I found a program that will take everything from my blog and put it into a book. It took about 5 hours to get everything transferred over because the site only 'grabs' 25 entries at a time and well, this is my 100th entry. My 2007 book is still in the works and I plan on working on it this evening. It is a digital scrapbook. My GOAL is to be finished with all of these books by the end of the year and I can start fresh with my 2009 book. I think I will go back to traditional scrapbooking for my 2009 book but I haven't completely decided. OH! and shutterfly.com does 12x12 digital scrapbook pages now so starting in 2009, I will no longer be using Kodak Gallery to upload and share all my photos. This is your advance warning so don't say I didn't tell you so. ;)
Last night Brad and I went to Jasmine's going away party. She has joined the Peace Corp and leaves for Gambia Africa next week. She will be gone for two years. Jasmine is Erika's sister. You may remember Erika from my wedding photos. She was one of my bridesmads and rigtfully so. I have known her since I was 7 years old and her family is like my family. They are one of the main reasons I decided to studay Spanish. The girls were raised in a single parent household and Vera is incredible. The funny thing is that I remember Vera yelling at the girls in Spanish and I really wanted to know what she was saying..hence my interest in the Spanish Language. You never know, If it wouldn't have been for the Martinez family, I wouldn't have gone to Spain to meet my wonderful husband! Anyway, Jasmine's family threw her a surprise party last night and Brad and I stopped by for a bit before heading to Rian & Lauren's to take some photos of more food.
The most important part of this post -- MY CAMERA IS BACK!! I still had a few problems with it last night but it is working (which is huge) and so now I can share these photos with you!

Yes, how do you convert a blog to scrapbook....pretty cool! Looking forward to this weekend!!
I have a program uploaded to my computer that I used to create wedding books. Its called Blurb. Unfortunately there are a few tricks that I didn't realize before I decided to do this. First, the newest version of Blurb (Booksmart)does not pull from Blogger. Something about all of the updates that Blogger does to their formatting. I was really upset about this because I thought I could share this idea with all of you and it would be awesome!! However, the newest version will not work if you upload it to your computers. I have one one of the older versions that will work. I think i have Booksmart 1.95. Even wth the version I have, it only pulls 25 entries at a time. I had to go through all of my blog entries (25 at a time) and change the dates to the most recent date. This was the only way I could figure out how to "trick" the program into thinking those 25 entries were the "newest" 25. Either of you are welcome to come to my house anytime you want and work on doing that. I think it took me 3-4 hours combined. I had to take breaks because it was driving me crazy. There may be other programs out there that will work with Blogger but I didn't want to upload, yet another, photography program onto our computer. Let me know if you have any questions because I really want to help you girls make that happen! ...now I just have to organize all the pages and edit the book down from the 250 pages it is at!! haha
