Baby Jace

On Sunday & Monday I spent a few hours each day helping Chrissy & Jeremy at the hospital. Brad was a big help with William on Sunday and then mom watched William on Monday until Brad got home from work. It is such a beautiful thing being around a newborn baby. It brought back a lot of great memories and some anxiety of William's arrival too. Luckily Chrissy's milk came in a lot faster than mine & the lactation consultants were able to work with here at the hospital. Unfortunately, little Jace got an infection during birth (we think it could be because Chrissy tested positive for Strep B) and he was fighting a fever so the Dr gave him two rounds of antibiotics. It was necessary for the infection and luckily the tests came back clear on Monday evening so they were finally able to go home! They had to wait 48 hours for the blood culture to grow and be tested, etc. We were all relieved when they were able to go home. I remember wanting to go home when we had Will but we were in the hospital for 6 days. Ultimately we think the antibiotics made Jace a little cranky and gassy but it passed in a couple of weeks and he really started to nurse like a champ!
