Rough Weekend -- Prayers Needed
All of these stories Im about to mention are much longer than I am going to share... but I honestly don't have the strength to talk about them in detail. Please keep the following people in your thoughts and prayers. God will know the details. I say 'rough weekend' but it has actually been a rough couple of weeks. It started with my mom in the ER/hospital because of really high blood pressure. She is doing a little bit better now but the medicine she is taking makes her very tired and she has still been having chest pains etc. I have been very worried about her. Please pray for my mom.
On friday night Sarah (one of my bestest friends) went to the ER because her right arm was swollen (the vessels were very prominent). They did several tests on friday night and finally determined that she has Paget Von Schrotter Syndrome -- Here is an explanation I found online:
an abnormal condition in which a clot develops within the subclavian or axillary vein following strenuous exercise. The condition is accompanied by pain, edema, and skin discoloration in the shoulder and upper arm.
Sarah's clot happened in the subclavian vein, under her right clavical. The doctor said this sydrome is very uncommon in females and in females as small as Sarah. It is more common in males who do a lot of weight lifting. Sarah is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 6am. It was very scary to see Sarah in the hospital and I hope they are able to get the clot broken up and out of her with success. The doctor said they may have to remove her first rib (under her clavical). We hope this doesn't have to happen. She will have to be on blood thinners for 6 months after the procedure. Please pray for my friend Sarah.
As you will see in coming posts, we had a very busy weekend. Paxton's FIRST birthday party was among the planned activities.
While we were at the party, Summer got a call from Jenny & Brandon. They were in a car accident. They were just a few miles from Amy's parents house, where the party was being held. Summer & Josh went up to the accident site. A couple of hours went by and they were still there so I left the party around 4:45 and decided that it would make more sense for me to stay with Jenny & Brandon (so Summer & Josh could let their dogs out before CT & Patrick's engagement party). I went up to the accident site and could not believe how bad Jenny's car was! I was expecting a fender bender but I was wrong! A really old red truck (probably from the 50's) crossed the center line and hit Jenny & Brandon. Luckily Jenny reacted fairly quickly and they were not hit head on. **Sidenote: Jenny was very attached to this car (lexus SUV) and she even paid if off last year! ... However, all of the windows on the driver side were busted out and the side of the car received very extensive damage. We believe the car is totaled but I have not heard either way. Josh & Brandon ended up leaving and Summer, Jenny & I waited for the tow truck. It didn't get there until 6:15 and we were supposed to be at CT's party at 6:30 (an hour away). We made it, though! -- Around 7:45. And the important thing is that Jenny & Brandon were not hurt badly. Jenny's knee was beat up a bit and Brandon's arm was cut from some of the glass. Jenny even found glass in her purse -- hours after the accident!
Please say a prayer of thanks that Jenny & Brandon were not hurt too badly and that they do not suffer any post-injuries from the accident.
While you are praying, please keep those people without jobs in your prayers and all of those who have lost loved ones. My oldest and dearest friend, Erika, has had a rough time in recent weeks. Her grandmother passed away and her mother has not been able to find work. They are having a really hard time and all prayers would be appreciated.
& while you are still praying, Please pray for those loved ones we know who are sick or are suffering with serious illnesses.
I said this would be short....i lied. ... I need sleep. Good night.
much love,
Suzie
