16 week update

How far along? 16 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? 7 lbs

Maternity clothes? I bought my first couple of pairs of maternity pants last week and they are seriously like a piece of heaven! They are so comfortable! I still wear my pre-pregnancy pants with my Bella Bands because the pants fit everywhere else except over my belly. :)

Stretch marks? not yet...but I wouldn't be surprised. Its likely in my genes.

Morning Sickness?  I still gag in the mornings, likely because I'm congested and I gag after I eat sometimes but I feel great within 30 minutes and I never actually throw up!

Sleep? I'm still having crazy dreams. I've had some bad dreams here & there about the baby and sometimes I wake up and I feel like being pregnant has been a wonderful dream! I have to pinch myself to remember that its real. :) I don't really remember most of my dreams but I've had some that I want to remember so I will document one specific one here since It has actually been a repeat dream: I've been dreaming that I get ready and drive to work in the morning. I'm sitting at my desk (there are a lot of big windows near my desk and its on the ground level) so I look outside and Chulo (our black lab/pitbull mix) and Karch ("my" blonde lab that lives at my parents) are looking at me through the window. We are NOT a "Bring your dog to work" kind of place but I let the dogs in and they sit by my desk and watch me work. They generally love to stare to get our attention. Then, our branch manager sees the dogs and says "Suzie, not again, what's going on" and I say "I told them to stay home, I'm so sorry" and then he says "ok, well you don't have time to take them home and we have a meeting so come on". Then Chulo & Karch follow me into the conference room for our meeting...and then I wake up. :) haha

Best moment last week? Realizing that its only less than a month until we find out if our sweet baby is a boy or a girl!

Worst moment last week?  Working overtime. I was so tired when I would finally get home at night!

Movement? I can't be sure. Sometimes It feels like I have butterflies or bubbles in my stomach and I've read that's how women describe feeling the first movements but then I wonder if its just gas or a hungry tummy. I can't wait to KNOW that its the baby I'm feeling. Sometimes I want to knock on my belly and say "is everything alright in there?"

Food cravings? Still craving tons of fruit! I also crave spinach and any other "leafy" veggies like Kale but I'm still not a fan of other vegetables. I've also been craving carbs this week (bread, crackers, pasta).

Gender? Can't wait to find out. For the record, I think its a girl. However, a coworker who supposedly has rarely been wrong thinks its a boy because I'm "carrying the baby in my hips". My response: No, I just have big hips!! According to the chinese gender calculator, we are having a boy. I have had friends tell me that the chinese calculator was right for them. I guess we will just have to wait a few more weeks to see who is right!

Labor signs? no, thank the Lord.

Belly button in/out? in

What I miss: A glass of red wine after a long day, beer (because it was the perfect weather for one this past weekend - gosh, I sound like an alcoholic), sushi (yummy!).

What I am looking forward to:  I have a 17 week check up (since I'm going every 4 weeks right now) and we get to hear the sweet heartbeat again! yay!

Milestones: Our sweet baby is the size of an avocado this week. I LOVE avocado and I eat plain avocado sandwiches a lot so this milestone is very fitting. I guess I need to start watching what I say ;) since tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean he/she can now pick up my voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.

VERY PROUD: Brad accepted a job with IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group) today! We are very excited about this new chapter in Brad's career. He has worked very hard and this has not been an easy process for him. I guess this shows how hard work & determination really pays off in the end! His parents raised him so well!! I am so proud of my amazing husband and all that he does for our little family.

YIKES! I apologize for the pale belly!! Its only going to look more like a bright moon as the weeks go by. It was warm this past weekend and I wanted a few pics taken outside so Brad took these. I'm actually 15w4d in these pics.
